In the midst of wedding planning you can feel that you’re at the mercy of your to-do list and it’s easy to forget to take some time-out and to look after yourself properly.
Over the past few months I’ve been sharing some simple wellbeing methods that are designed to keep you calm during this demanding period of your life, to give you a little extra spring in your step and ensure that you focus some much-deserved time on yourself.
This month’s wellbeing project is the simplest yet but as with all small changes, once done repetitively and frequently, they can bring about big results!
Wellbeing – The Self Love List
When you’re on the train home from work, or snuggled up in front of the TV with your partner tonight grab yourself a few sheets of paper or a notebook and make one large list of all the things that make you feel great.
This can range from the small pleasures in daily life such as soaking in the bath, having painted nails, getting your haircut, cooking a tasty meal for your loved ones, going for a run or to the gym, catching up with friends or taking part in a hobby, to the larger loves in your life such as weekend’s away and holidays. Large or small, it doesn’t matter as long as it truly makes you feel good about yourself.
Once your list for self-love is complete, the more difficult part begins; do at least one thing on this list every single day! It can feel like a challenge to find the time to focus on our self, but this simple act of daily self-love is well earned, it will reduce your stress levels and boost your feelings of contentment.
Taking charge of your own wellbeing and happiness will energise you and motivate you in other areas of your life too, whilst giving you a greater feeling of daily bliss in the run up to your wedding.
Commit to this daily habit and try it for yourself! And if you do give it a go, be sure to come back and share your experience in the comments box below.
