You Mean The World To Me caught up with Vickki – the owner of Elixir – to find out a little bit more about getting married on the beautiful White Isle and all about the new venue.

YMTWTM: How long have you been planning weddings and how did you get started?

  • Elixir: “Ten years. I just fell into it really and loved it.”

 

 YMTWTM: What’s your favourite part of the job?

  • Elixir: “The variety, excitement and deco….well aside from the food, which is my PASSION!”

 

YMTWTM: What are the key benefits of having a wedding planner when couples want to get married abroad?

  • Elixir: “Speaking the language, experience and it helps you to enjoy the day rather than run it!”

  • Elixir: “The surroundings, relaxed nature and that your friends have as much fun as you do.”

  • Elixir: “Loving each other and the island!”

  • Elixir: “Vintage everything!”

 

YMTWTM: How can couples make their wedding original?

  • Elixir: “By having a planner or venue who doesn’t want to create the same wedding because it’s easy, the flexibility is important and a little effort on the couples part.”

 

YMTWTM: What are some creative ways to insert some Spanish details or finishing touches into the wedding?

  • Elixir: “The food, Cava and Spanish fans for keeping guests cool.”

 

YMTWTM: What’s your favourite type of wedding?

  • Elixir: “Fun, relaxed and original ones!”

YMTWTM: Tell us more about Eat Ibiza’s new wedding venue Elixir.

  • Elixir: “Elixir is a beach front wedding venue sat above a sandy cove overlooking Es Vedra. We focus on beautiful chic surroundings, amazing food and amazing drinks, making the day unique, fun and relaxed for you and your guests. Oh and above all, buckets of romance.”

 

YMTWTM: What’s the most popular style of wedding cake?

  • Elixir: “They are all pretty equally as popular, but I love the vintage three-tier Victoria Sponge!”

YMTWTM: Talk us through a typical wedding breakfast that Elixir offers their brides and grooms-to-be for the wedding day.

 

  • Elixir: “To start – mezze tappas, served as a platter to every table:”

Warm crispy jabugo chorizo bites sprinkled with smoked paprika.

Buffalo mozzarella, serrano ham and chilli, balsamic and fig jam.

Marinated Spanish lemon and basil marinated queen olives.

Wood roasted sweet jerez marinated whole red pepper and roasted vegetable antipasti.

Authentic roasted garlic ali oli.

Homemade black olive, sundried tomato and pine nut tapenade.

Tail on gambas a la plancha with garlic and parsley extra virgin olive oil.

Aged manchego cheese slices served with sweet red onion confit.

 

  • Elixir: “There’s a selection of main courses to choose from:”

Medallions of fillet steak served with a truffle and cream veloute or rosemary and rioja jus.

Cracked black pepper and sea salt, crispy polenta crusted, pan fried line caught sea bass fillet served with an organic lemon.

Local fish en papiotte with hand crushed tomato salsa verde.

Parmesan and sun blush tomato stuffed chicken breast rotolo wrapped in a crisp serrano ham shell.

Caramelised red onion, local goats cheese and wild thyme tartlet.

 

  • Elixir: “Our favourite dessert that we suggest is:”

Bite sized amaretto scented chocolate fudge brownies, mini orange blossom and Madagascan vanilla bean baked cheesecake stacked with fresh strawberries, warm chocolate fudge dipping sauce and cool fresh cream.
