Destination Wedding Blog 2

There’s no need to spend hours searching through the wonderful world of wedding pretty on Etsy as we have done the hard work for you!

Take a leisurely browse through our Favourite Etsy Finds on the blog; they have all been chosen for their down-right-gorgeousness and because they are ideal for destination weddings.

The latest lovelies to catch our eye are these adorable badges from Beth Of All Trades. They come in all sorts of designs, they can be personalised, they can be made into badges or have magnetic badge backs (so as not to put pin holes in your wedding guests clothes), they can be made into fridge magnets and even save the dates! Insanely cute and utterly versatile – a win, win we say.

These beautiful badges would be perfect to hand out to your guests if you’re having a mini hen or stag party when you get to your destination wedding location, or simply for your bridal shower back home. You could even personalise a badge for each guest with their name on, and have them on your wedding tables as name place cards – making them a little wedding gift for your guests to wear too.

The save the date kitchen magnets are not only super pretty but practical too; they will ensure that your wedding date takes pride of place on the fridge without a chance of being forgotten!

There’s so many darling designs to choose from so be sure to take a peek at the full selection on Beth Of All Trades on Etsy.

You Mean The World To Me

Displaying photographs at your wedding reception is a simple, cost effective way to add personality and a little extra-personal touch.

If you and your partner have known each other for a long time, show your story through the years in pictures. Ensure you get the cringe-worthy old photos out – your guests will love seeing you back in the day as youngsters.

A cute idea is to display photos of you and your partner as babies and children – this will get all your aunts cooing! This can be an especially nice touch if you both have siblings, as you can use photos with your brothers and sisters in too, showing the two families which will be uniting on your wedding day.

Display photographs of your parents and your grandparents on their wedding day; a lovely way to celebrate the successful marriages which have come before yours and a lovely excuse for your parents to dig out and look through their old photos and wedding album.

Pay tribute to lost loved ones on your wedding day with a display of their photos.

All of these ideas are also a great way to decorate a hen party, baby shower or a special birthday.

You Mean The World To Me

I’ve got the world on a string

Photographs are very light to pack if you’re jetting off for a destination wedding. Simply buy sweet little pegs and string like the ones shown below from stores such as John Lewis or Paperchase and string them up at your reception venue. Be careful where you hang pictures if you are getting married abroad – bright sunlight can damage your photographs.

Destination themed

You must have a little map theme in there somewhere! Map print luggage tags or colourful flags of your favourite countries around the globe would make great name place settings for a destination wedding.

I LOVE maps! I’m a self declared map lover. Okay, and I love atlases, and globes, and literally anything that’s map related really! I just like to know where I am and where I’m going and to have a look at all the exciting places there is out there to visit….is this just me?!

Anyway, my long-standing love of maps has recently been very on trend. Map prints are everywhere and they work perfectly for a destination wedding. So, take on the world with these map-tastic, destination wedding ideas and turn a wedding location in to a map wedding theme.

A wedding invitation not only announces the date of the wedding, but it also gives guests their first taster as to what they can expect from the wedding day.

Show them in style with these bespoke, handmade map heart cards from Bombus – guaranteed to delight and excite guests about an upcoming destination wedding. Each map is glazed before being cut into the Bombus heart shape and then mounted, so it floats above the card. The cards come in two sizes and prices start at £9 per card. See the full range and more from Bombus.

Bombus: “Of course, the map only details the location – it’s the heart behind it that tells the story”. Cute!

Order of service:

For impact, continue the destination theme throughout the full wedding day.

If order of service sheets are needed for the ceremony, the heart map from the invitations could be scanned in and used on the front of the order of service sheets. To save on costs, order of service sheets could be designed simply and printed at home or with the help of a local printer or a Prontaprint store.
