Kate & Mark ♥ Bali, Indonesia
Photographer: PhotoFactory Bali
If someone asked me where I thought the best destination wedding location was, I’d find it soooo hard to choose but if I had to pick just one, then I might just have to say Bali.
Every wedding that appears in my inbox from the faraway shores of Bali has me instantly addicted. It’s not just the pristine beaches, lush tropical scenery and spectacular choice of luxury hotels and venues that Bali has to offer, the wedding scene here just seems so well organised as well! With super-talented teams on hand, this Indonesian island is well versed when it comes to planning a wedding, and it seems to enable every couple’s destination ‘I Do’ to simply shine with character and flair.
Kate and Mark’s sunshiny soiree at the magical Mick’s Place, Bali is no exception to this rule; their day radiates with personality and style. From Kate’s beautiful beaded Jenny Packham gown which shimmered in the sunlight to her fabulous flower crown, from their vibrant turquoise theme and chevron print table runners to the charming customised quote boards, handmade favours and table settings – this is a personalised destination wedding done oh-so-right.
If you have a bridal shower, birthday, special supper or even your wedding breakfast tables to design, then how about adding an elegant hint of vintage, a touch of Tiffany turquoise and a dash of Breakfast at Tiffany’s to your theme?
Antique metallic hues work wonderfully with vibrant shades of aqua marine and a neutral off-white base, so channel your inner Audrey Hepburn when planning your next soiree by adding some chic finishing touches such as these to your guest’s tables…
In my opinion there’s no greater time to enjoy a city than at dawn. The magical moments when you can explore and appreciate the cityscape in almost silence, surrounded only by other knowing early birds, just before the city’s dwellers begin to stir and breath life into the streets.
Sasha Chou Photography wisely used the enchanting morning sunrise over the Williamsburg Bridge in New York City as a backdrop for today’s styled shoot. This peaceful time in the city that never sleeps drew a beautifully romantic light, the perfect companion to a vintage theme.
A lace Victoriana dress, an autumnal red rose and jasmine flower crown and a majestic bouquet delivered a creative contrast to the urban setting and produced a delightful fall wedding theme to inspire you.
Ever since the first episode of Mad Men aired back in 2007 the wardrobes and panache showcased on this critically acclaimed American drama have been inspiring trends. From fashion to wedding themes, even to hen party fancy dress, Mad Men style has continued to take the world by storm.
Today’s retro styled shoot had Mad Men and the sixties in mind. The A-line dress shape emerged in this era as did slim-fit suits and skinny ties, and vintage typewriters, hints of retro prints and signature cocktails would make stylish period statements at any wedding.
So if you’re a fan of the show or of this age, why not add a little Mad Men magic to your big day?
Laura & Dylan ♥ Sydney, Australia
Photographer: Hilary Cam Photography
Sometimes a wedding stops you in your tracks, and this stylish Sydney soiree happens to be one of those darling days!
Being an interior designer and freelance stylist by day, Laura sprinkled her and Dylan’s wedding with ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ magic, creating a beyond beautiful vision that is brimming with vintage pretty.
From the breathtaking Cathedral ceremony to Laura’s fabulous fishtail gown, from the unique island reception venue (only accessible by boat) to the twinkling fairy light lit garden theme, the details and thought that went into their day truly shines through.
Paloma & Mel ♥ Extremadura, Spain
This super-sweet engagement shoot took place in Extremadura in Spain, near the border of Portugal. Paloma and Mel wanted a vintage-vibe to their shoot and with their boho-inspired outfits, classic bicycles and the dreamy lighting of the day, that’s exactly what the talented photographer team from Casadisimos delivered.
