Real Wedding – Retro Style At Boyd Baker House, Australia

30/03/2015 |

Sarah & Perry   ♥   Victoria, Australia

Photographer:   Oli Sansom

When photographer Oli Sansom sends through a wedding submission, you know it’s going to be a stylish one! His talents behind the lens were teamed with a private venue in Australia that was famously designed and built in the 1960s by Melbourne architect Robin Boyd.

Tucked away in the bushland of Victoria, the Boyd Baker House certainly delivered a cool and quirky retro setting and Sarah and Perry lovingly emphasized the scene with just the right hints of vintage styling and down-to-earth natural touches.

Discovering and sharing a unique location such as the iconic Boyd Baker House can be what destination days are all about. Deciding to do things a little differently and giving your guests a one of a kind experience, combined with a wedding celebration, is as exciting and rewarding for the bride and groom as it is for the wedding guests.

So sit back and enjoy taking a sneaky peek at this distinctive destination day, as it is truly exceptional!

Wedding Theme Inspiration – Pretty Pastel Garden Party

09/12/2014 |

Yesterday the blog was transformed into a winter wonderland which was very in keeping with the cold December weather we are experiencing. This morning however, I’m sharing some summertime inspired style to brighten your week and leave you dreaming of sunshiny days – they’re closer than you think!

When you’re planning your wedding and you start to think about a colour palette for your big day, choosing hues that compliment the season within which you’ll tie the knot is a great place to start. If you’re getting married abroad and having a warm weather wedding, pretty pastels or bold and bright shades will compliment the sunshine scene and lush garden backdrops.

Today’s talented shoot team combined classic light colours with bold pops of pink and yellow, some sparkling sequins and hints of antique metallic for a fresh, modern vintage garden party theme. The addition of vintage luggage, mason jars and rustic wooden windows as a wedding altar heightened the vintage-vibe whilst still having an up-to-date edge.

Amanda & Cody   ♥   Palm Springs, USA

Photographer:   onelove photography

I had the pleasure of visiting Palm Springs many moons ago whilst on a fashion shoot with work and I have longed to go back ever since.

There was something charming and almost magical about this desert city, especially to a London dweller; the lovely long roads lined with leggy palm trees, the mountain ranges standing tall in the distance, the delightfully hot weather (of course!) and the vintage Americana feel.

Amanda and Cody chose the darling Palm Springs desert and the trendy Ace Hotel and Swim Club for their sunshiny soiree, and the brilliant onelove photography team were there to capture the day in perfect style, as always.

When you choose a standout venue like Ace Hotel, working a little of the design aesthetic into your wedding will create a consistent and memorable theme. With a luxe vintage feel to the Ace, today’s couple went for a 1920s-inspired image with wow-factor features such as bright summery blooms, glittering chevron table runners, and even a taco buffet complete with Tabasco favours (super hot idea!).

If you’re getting married abroad then today’s Ace Hotel, Palm Springs wedding is true inspiration for having your day your way, and showcases the amazing outcome of adding pops of personality to your celebration.

Real Wedding – English Garden Party

You Mean The World To Me

Vicky & Matt   ♥   Hertfordshire, England

Photographer:   Bohemian Weddings

It’s St George’s Day today and what better way to celebrate England’s national day than with a garden party wedding?

Vicky and Matt tied the knot in a quaint countryside village church in Hertfordshire, before celebrating in the garden, enjoying the late summer sun and some bubbles (in the form of champagne and blowing bubbles!). An impressive tipi was filled with fairy lights to create a unique venue for the wedding breakfast.

From the blackberry-filled bridal bouquet and buttonholes, to the white cab wedding transport and the bright red post box for the wedding cards, today’s back garden wedding was intimate, sweet and oh-so-English.

Bohemian Weddings:

“Vicky and Matt’s wedding was a small English country wedding, set in the lovely Hertfordshire countryside. They held their ceremony in St Mary’s Church in Rickmansworth, as Vicky grew up in a nearby village, where her mum still lives.”

“Vicky and Matt opted for a simple but elegant white cab to be transported in and their reception was held in Vicky’s mum’s garden – the perfect venue!”
