I can’t believe how quickly the last few years have flown by. This time two years ago I had not long returned from a three-week trip of a lifetime – my amazing honeymoon to Los Angeles and Hawaii!
My hubby and I got married abroad in Ibiza and so we wanted to clearly communicate to our wedding guests that we certainly would not be expecting wedding gifts as them generously taking the time, effort and of course the cost to come out to our destination wedding was in itself the greatest gift we could have ever hoped for.
Some relatives expressed an interest in getting us a gift regardless, so we added to our invitations that a contribution towards our upcoming honeymoon would be gratefully accepted if anyone did wish to get us a wedding present.
“You being there to share our special and memorable day is the best gift we could receive. Other gifts are by no means anticipated or expected. However, for those who have expressed a desire to mark the occasion, American Dollars towards our honeymoon would be gratefully appreciated.”
When it comes to wedding dresses the reverse of your gown is just as important a feature as the front!
As you saunter down the aisle to stand at the altar saying your vows to your beloved, you want your back to continue to speak volumes of style and give your guests something to swoon at! From beautiful back detailing to dramatic low backed gowns, the exquisitely designed Enzoani 2015 Collection will ensure you look oh-so-amazing from every angle.
Not only does the exciting new range deliver in the unforgettable backless dress stakes but the bridalwear brand has also creatively balanced traditional and modern styles, delivering a complete range of fashion-forward hand crafted gowns for the style-savvy bride. Renowned not only for innovative designs, Enzoani concentrates on superior quality and a seamless fit and finish unlike any other.
Influenced by elegant European trends, an Enzoani wedding dress is suitably fitting for a destination bride. The sleek, chic, shoulder-baring gowns are perfect for getting married abroad in warm weather and lightweight deluxe fabrics such as these are a destination bride’s best friend!
Fresh off the catwalk the dresses in the 2015 Collection radiate an air of timeless romance. Sleek silhouettes and hip hugging gowns embellished with hand-beaded jewels elevate the romance factor to new heights, whilst ruched tulle dresses with floral or metallic embroidery and sparkling beads present brides with a look of ornate glamour. Famed for its use of luxurious lace fabrics, this season’s varieties feature subtle layers of multicoloured hues or if 1920s glamour makes your heart flutter, the glitz and glam of the roaring twenties is also showcased through this new collection with vintage-inspired gowns fit for any guest to a Gatsby soiree!
If there’s one trend that will continue to lead the way in the style stakes well into 2015 and beyond, it is the fashion for non-white wedding dresses.
Since A-list brides (Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightly to name just a few) began sashaying down the aisle in non-traditional tones, there has been a fashion frenzy of beautiful blush and champagne gowns to choose from and style-savvy brides the world over have been shunning classic white wedding dresses and opting instead for a gorgeous gown with a hint of a delicate dye.
Blossom into a radiant bridal vision in a fashion-forward petal pink dress or if classic-ware is more to your taste add a modern twist with a luxurious champagne shade.
Not only do pretty pink and bubbly toned wedding dresses create a unique and wildly romantic look, they are also guaranteed to put a sweet and sugary spell on your honey.
So if a pastel or champers hue is the direction for you then look no further as the talented design teams over at Benjamin Roberts Bridalwear have their finger on the vogue pulse and they have lovingly created a full selection of dresses with blush and champagne tints.
The tradition of throwing confetti over a couple as they exit their ceremony dates back to Roman times when grains were tossed to bring good luck and the wish of a fertile marriage to the newlyweds.
Thankfully confetti throwing is certainly one wedding tradition that is not dying out, if anything it is having a major revival! With companies such as Shropshire Petals who grow 100% natural, eco-friendly, biodegradable petal confetti there’s no concerns over when and where you can throw confetti, which means there’s no end to the fun that can be had with these pretty petals.
Photos will be the way you remember your wedding day for years to come, so capturing the best moments is really important – especially the confetti shot! Not only is a confetti moment visually pretty and always full of smiles, it makes for fantastic photographs too.
So be imaginative with your confetti on your special day! Decorate your venue with confetti for a romantic look or get creative with your confetti throwing ideas. To get you thinking, here are a few unique confetti ideas…
