Real bride review:

“Sammy and Natalia are a sweet couple who were wonderful to work with.”

“They provided the most thorough and prompt responses to our inquiries prior to the big day.  This was helpful because they lived so far from us (they are based in California), and we were unable to meet up before our destination wedding in Mexico.”

Real bride review:

“Where do we start with Joe! If we had to sum him up in one word it would be ‘fun’. He made our day so exciting and memorable.”

“We met Joe at The Plaza Hotel before our ceremony and he went through our ideas for the photo tour and told us what would realistically work and what wouldn’t. Joe knew that our brief was to capture a special day in New York City and he certainly did that. Throughout the day Joe’s visionary was incredible and he had us doing things we never thought we would be doing on our wedding day.”

Real bride review:

“One of the first people I called after we became engaged was Sara Kauss, a dear friend and talented photographer.”

“I have always been a bit obsessed with Sara’s photography and artistic style and the thought of having anyone else capturing our engagement didn’t even cross our minds – when you know the best, you go with it!”

Real bride review:

“As soon as we looked at Bali PhotoFactory’s digital portfolio on their website, we were head over heels in love with the natural way their photography team had captured other destination weddings.”

“Long before we had narrowed down a venue for our destination wedding, we began to research wedding photographers in Bali – we had a lot of people who couldn’t make it to our overseas wedding, so we wanted to make sure that our wedding was able to be captured for our family and friends at home, as well as for preserving our own memories of the day.”

Real bride review:

“I had so much fun at our engagement shoot and trash the dress session with Caroline from BlueCicada Photography.

She was so skilled at making me (and my husband) feel relaxed, and she had such good ideas of where we should go to get the best snaps.”

Picture Perfect – Wedding Photography Tips

Wedding Photography

If I could give one piece of advice to other brides, it would be to invest in your photography. Along with your memories (which do get a bit hazy over time), your photographs are the only way to look back at all of the small details and special moments. They really are priceless.

Real bride reviews:

Recommendations can be extremely valuable when choosing your wedding photographer. Check out our Real Bride Reviews for photographers that fellow brides have approved. Wedding fairs, your wedding planner or your venue should also be able to help you to find a good selection of reputable photographers.

Wedding Day Photos

Meet and greet:

Make sure you take a look at a range of a photographers previous work. Take a look on their website or on their blog and ask to see a portfolio to ensure their style is what you are looking for.

If you can, meet up with your photographer before the big day. You will be spending a lot of time together on this important day so it is good to feel at ease in their company and feel confident that they will engage with the wedding party.

It’s a good idea to find out if they have photographed weddings at your venue before too. If they have, they’ll know all the best places for getting some magical couple shots for you.

Wedding Photographs

Shot list:

A good photographer will not require a shot list for the day. They have done their job many times before and so they should be able to guide you through the day getting the best shots along the way. They may require a running order of the day from you or your wedding planner so that they know exactly what is happening and when.
