You Mean The World To Me

When today’s couple visited Mick’s Place – a boutique resort in Bali with unrestricted views over the pristine white sand of Bingin Beach, renowned as sporting some of Indonesia’s best waves – to celebrate the bride’s 30th birthday, they instantly knew the venue was ‘the one’ for them!

Not yet engaged, the groom romantically popped the question four short weeks later, with the vision of their destination wedding firmly established in their minds.

Fast-forward a year and Shannon and Dane tied the knot with the spectacular scenery of Mick’s Place as their backdrop. This breathtaking Bali wedding is brimming with steal-worthy DIY details: adding personality and charm to a stylish and cool celebration.

Shannon and Dane fell in love at first sight with this luxurious locale and it delivered them with the destination day of their dreams.

Shannon says:

“Dane booked a few nights at Mick’s Place last year for my 30th, we weren’t engaged yet but knew we always wanted to get married in Bali – as soon as we arrived we both said “this is it!” The view was breathtaking, it was so relaxing and one of Dane’s favorite waves was right out the front, it was perfect. We asked for a wedding package to be emailed through, Dane popped the question four weeks later and we booked it straight away!”

Real bride review:

“As soon as we looked at Bali PhotoFactory’s digital portfolio on their website, we were head over heels in love with the natural way their photography team had captured other destination weddings.”

“Long before we had narrowed down a venue for our destination wedding, we began to research wedding photographers in Bali – we had a lot of people who couldn’t make it to our overseas wedding, so we wanted to make sure that our wedding was able to be captured for our family and friends at home, as well as for preserving our own memories of the day.”

Real Wedding – Orange Is The Happiest Colour In Bali

We introduced you to the idea that orange is the happiest colour yesterday and today’s real wedding illustrates just how true that is. There’s so much fun and enjoyment going on in these photos from PhotoFactory. Sarah used her favourite colour palette – peach and tangerine – as the theme to their big day and ensured that this picturesque private villa wedding was packed with personality.

Sarah and Kaz worked hard to make this special day their own; from Sarah’s incredible dress handmade by her talented best friend’s mum, to the DIY decorations and personalised favours. But the real icing on the cake? Sarah had her very own ‘trash the dress’ photo opportunity to the delight of their guests!

Sarah says:

“My Husband Kaz and I were married on the 15th June 2013. After looking at a few place locally in Western Australia and not finding anywhere that we really liked we decided to do it in Bali. Kaz and I wanted somewhere green and lush, picturesque and serine and somewhere we could stay and have the whole day in the one place. We took a weekend visit to Bali to choose a venue – there are so many beautiful places to choose from. Many people choose to stick to the coastline of Bali but we wanted something different.”

You Mean The World To Me

We’re jetting off to destination wedding heaven today – the glorious shores of Bali – for a relaxed and intimate celebration.

Terese told us her wedding day was filled with love and we can’t disagree. From the romantic red bridesmaid dresses to the tender looks between Terese and hubby Graham; today’s real wedding is loaded with lovely moments.

They let the wedding venue do the talking on their big day; an impressive cliff top reception took their guest’s breath away and dining as the balmy Bali sunset made for magical memories.

Terese says:

“We were married at the Ayana Resort, Jimbaran Bay, Bali – the location was simply breath taking, the resort is situated on the edge of the cliff and over looks the ocean. Simply stunning. We choose a destination wedding as we wanted all the fun and excitement to last longer than a day and it most certainly did. Our guests (76 of them) and us spent five nights in Bali. The lead up to the wedding and the days after were just as fun as the actual day. Everyone was relaxed by the time the day had come round and all had a chance to meet each other.”

We have very quickly fallen in (Eat, Pray,) Love with Bali weddings and today’s idyllic, intimate affair is no exception.

Bali’s beautiful scenery creates a dramatic backdrop to this stylish occasion and what could be a better place to say ‘I do’ than the spectacular Tresna chapel, with its gorgeous, green glass altar – it will take your breath away.

With the tropical sun setting, the wedding party dined al fresco on a cliff edge, the waves of the Indian Ocean quietly crashing below and the Balinese stars watching overhead – simply stunning. Enjoy!

Deanne says:

“After deciding that we wanted to marry overseas we settled on Bali, and very quickly we found the most breathtaking place to say ‘I do’, at Ayana Resort and Spa in Jimbaran Bay. We had previously been to Jimbaran Bay, and knew the location was ideal. Ayana, set on top of rocky cliffs that overlook the water, a warm breeze and the feeling of space and seclusion was exactly what we were after. We sent out invitations that were designed as mini passports, with the details for the entire Bali experience on the pages, along with tear out sections to RSVP and make music requests.”

“All of our guests had arrived in Bali the day prior to our wedding, so we held a dinner for our 45 guests to socialise at KuDeTa in Seminyak (another amazing Bali venue) and we found that the atmosphere from the day before the wedding flowed beautifully to our wedding day – lots of scrumptious food and delicious cocktails. The staff really looked after us!”

Real Wedding – Beachside In Bali

You Mean The World To Me Bali

Genevieve & Chris   ♥   Bali, Indonesia

Photographer:   PhotoFactory Bali

We don’t know where to start, we’re so excited about this destination wedding!

It’s in Bali for a start – swoon – and check out the beautiful beachside scenery. Bali is not one of the world’s most popular island destinations for nothing. Known as The Island of the Gods, Bali is a fierce contender in the competition for being crowned as paradise.

This wedding has everything that we feel makes a destination wedding so special: unbelievable scenery, a to-die-for venue, the weather (okay so they had a little rain shower, but we can pretty much guarantee that it was hot rain!) and as Genevieve and Chris showcase, you can add all of the personal touches to a destination wedding that you would have done back at home.

Genevieve says:

“I met Chris roughly 5 years ago, not long after he emigrated from England to Australia. When the time came for us to get engaged and start the wedding planning process and where it was going to be held, Bali was a fairly easy decision to make with it being on ‘neutral ground’.”

“Bali is also a place that is held very close to the hearts of my family, who travel up there regularly. The idea of an overseas wedding was also quite appealing to us as we could make it a holiday for those attending. We hosted a pre-wedding event, so all of our guests could mingle and a post-wedding lunch the following day back at the villa, so everyone could enjoy the surroundings.”

“We chose Ombak Luwung for our wedding venue, as it has the wow factor. The grounds and view of the ocean are spectacular. It was also special for us to have both families staying there together, in the lead up to our big day.”
