Today’s real bride Tami envisaged ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ theme for her and her hubby-to-be’s wedding in Marrakech…and it certainly turned out dreamy!

Tami and her bridesmaids wore delicate Temperley gowns as they walked down the aisle lined with olive trees and candles, before the wedding party moved on to enjoy a night under the stars in a gorgeous garden setting.

Tami says:

“Apart from chosing the wine, all the planning was done between myself and my wedding planners Rosena and Fred from Boutique Souk.  The highlight was walking down the aisle with my Dad, seeing Alan at the front, all our friends and family and my little boy.  I was amazed at how the church had been transformed by Boutique Souk into my dream, full of olive trees and candles!”

Boutique Souk says:

“English bride, Tami had her heart set on a Midsummer’s Night Dream styled wedding and chose magical Marrakech for its lush garden settings and warm climate so the reception could take place under the stars. Tami and Groom Alan, chose an exotic palm and olive grove setting with a Moroccan tented afterparty for the reception. The ceremony was celebrated at the Catholic Church of Marrakech.”

You Mean The World To Me

If you are thinking about getting married in magical Morocco, then this Destination Wedding Guide is a great place to start.

And who could be better to bring you all of the inspiration and information you need to start planning your wedding than the talented team of wedding planning experts at Boutique Souk?

Boutique Souk:

Marrakech is an exotic choice for a destination wedding, it has become increasingly hip due to the all-year-round sunshine, stunning venues and locations – palaces, riads, spectacular gardens filled with roses, palm trees and olive trees and of course low cost travel making it accessible for you and your guests.

Morocco is right up there on the list of most desirable short-haul destinations. Situated three short hours flight away from the UK, enjoying pleasant year-round temperatures, an abundance of culture to appreciate and ancient cities to explore, Morocco and Marrakech are fantastic places to visit and create a charming destination wedding location.

As well as the must-visit maze-like streets and the intense hustle and bustle of the souks of Marrakech, the enchanting Yves Saint Laurent Majorelle Gardens and beautiful Berber Museum are very much worth calling in on.  The spectacular Atlas Mountains are a mere 40 miles away from Marrakech, making them an easy (as well as unforgettable) day trip.

Many couples stay on after their wedding and enjoy their honeymoon in Morocco. Some choose to travel around, spending a night in the desert in a tent under the stars mixed with some luxury resort hotels in the mountains or at the coast for some pampering. Boutique Souk is an ABTA registered Travel Agency so we can coordinate honeymoons as well as guest accommodation for the wedding.

You Mean The World To Me

Lisa and Alex (also known as 2People1Life) are wedding their way around the world in a real wedding adventure, getting hitched in every country that they visit. Read part one and part two of their journey so far.

Nuptials number 45 took them to the magical myriad of maze-like streets that make up the medina of Marrakech, Morocco.

The wedding and concierge experts at Boutique Souk arranged a hidden gem of a Riad as the location for this magnificent marriage ceremony. Upon the romantic rooftop of this hideaway hotel, Alex and Lisa said ‘I do’ for the 45th time, with the smell of fragrant roses filling the air and the sun setting over the Atlas Mountains leaving the intense hustle and bustle of the bazaar far below.

Michael and Andrea from Bohemian Weddings talk us through the story:

“After spending some time with Alex and Lisa travelling in Morocco we are now more than happy to call them our good friends. To explain to anyone who does not know the journey they are on, this was not your usual wedding country, venue or couple. We went through a lot together in 8 days, but for now we want to share a beautiful setting that for them was wedding number 45.”

“We spent a few days in Essaouira together which gave us a chance to really get to know each other. We then drove from the coast in to Marrakech. The wedding was organised by Boutique Souk at Riad El Fenn, a real oasis in the middle of the Medina, with open spaces, palm trees, pools, spas and wild tortoises!”

“After having some fun getting ready in traditional wedding clothing the ceremony was held at sunset on the rooftop with the Medina and beautiful Atlas mountains as a backdrop. Atlas rose lollypops were used as a central place to hold the ceremony and a headscarf was purchased from the market last minute to finish off Lisa’s look.”

“After the ceremony Alex and Lisa braved one of the craziest market squares in Africa in full traditional dress! We were all apprehensive but we were met with great reactions from the locals ululating and asking excitedly if Alex and Lisa had just got married. We look forward to sharing more of our journey together in the near future.”
