Rachael & James   ♥   Ohio, USA

Photographer:   Kayla Coleman Photography

When a fashionable designer gets engaged you can guarantee she will have one chic engagement shoot. Team this style savvy bride-to-be and her dapper groom-to-be with an oh-so-brilliant photographer and the results are dreamy romantic photographs, abounding with personality.

Rachael, the founder of design boutique Shore Society and her hubby-to-be James, got engaged on the bleached white sands of the Key West, Florida. Once home and still reeling from their romantic proposal trip, they recreated the feeling of those fabulous vacation moments at their local beach. By photographing at their house (with their super-cute pooch!) and on their well-loved bikes too, their personalities and home life shone through, as well as their obvious adoration for each other.

Kayla Coleman Photography:

“Often there are couples that photographers want to call ‘DIBS!’ on. When I saw Jim and Rachael’s engagement announcement on Facebook, I jumped at my chance to get them in front of my camera!”

Engagement Shoot Kuala Lumpur – With This Ring

Helen & Dan   ♥   Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Photographer:   BlueCicada Photography

The first part of today’s adorable engagement story was on the blog this morning, be sure to check it out if you missed it. Helen and Dan are both from the UK but they live in tropical Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (lucky pair!). They really wanted their engagement shoot to showcase the heart of the city that they call home, so they headed to China Town to have a bold and busy backdrop to their photographs.

Whilst on their engagement shoot they stepped into the oasis of a ring shop. Feeling cool, calm and a million miles away from the sunshiny streets outside, they chose their wedding rings – what a special moment in time to have caught of camera!

Caroline, BlueCicada Photography:

“The second part of Helen and Dan’s engagement shoot was to go to where Dan found THE ring to propose to Helen (he had it designed and everything) and spend some time with them whilst they would start to look at the wedding bands. Enjoy the colourful city of KL and the fun moments with this lovely pair!”

Helen & Dan   ♥   Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Photographer:   BlueCicada Photography

The China Town area of Kuala Lumpur made a bright and bustling backdrop to today’s destination engagement shoot. Helen and Dan live and work in KL and they wanted to capture the essence of the tropical city they call home, along with this special moment in their lives.

Caroline, BlueCicada Photography:

“I am super excited to be the photographer for these two lovebirds’ wedding coming up in August 2014, because it will be my first wedding in Europe. It will take place near Edinburgh (fingers crossed for beautiful weather there), where I have never been before, so double the excitement!”

“We had a mission of wandering around near China Town in the heart of Kuala Lumpur until we found a place where we could eat roti Cenai. If you have never had roti Cenai for breakfast, I highly recommend it! Now, I wouldn’t recommend it everyday for health purposes, but once in a while is just lush.”

“Enjoy the colourful city of KL and the fun moments with this lovely pair!”

Helen says:

“Dan and I met in Edinburgh at university, but our lives took very different paths until we met up again in 2011 back in Edinburgh. I was living in Kuala Lumpur and Dan in Yorkshire. We decided on that day that we ‘re-met’ that he would move to KL. A year later he did (after a year of skype and letter writing- very romantic). We now both live and work as teachers in Malaysia.
