Real Wedding – Sunshiny Soiree At Mick’s Place, Bali

Getting Married In Bali

Kate & Mark   ♥   Bali, Indonesia

If someone asked me where I thought the best destination wedding location was, I’d find it soooo hard to choose but if I had to pick just one, then I might just have to say Bali.

Every wedding that appears in my inbox from the faraway shores of Bali has me instantly addicted. It’s not just the pristine beaches, lush tropical scenery and spectacular choice of luxury hotels and venues that Bali has to offer, the wedding scene here just seems so well organised as well! With super-talented teams on hand, this Indonesian island is well versed when it comes to planning a wedding, and it seems to enable every couple’s destination ‘I Do’ to simply shine with character and flair.

Kate and Mark’s sunshiny soiree at the magical Mick’s Place, Bali is no exception to this rule; their day radiates with personality and style. From Kate’s beautiful beaded Jenny Packham gown which shimmered in the sunlight to her fabulous flower crown, from their vibrant turquoise theme and chevron print table runners to the charming customised quote boards, handmade favours and table settings – this is a personalised destination wedding done oh-so-right.

Real Wedding – I Dreamed A Dream In Bali

Leanne & Luke   ♥   Bali, Indonesia

Photographer:   PhotoFactory Bali

You’ve got to love a good international love story! The chance encounter’s halfway around the world, where a lovely pair randomly meet and find the one they’re going to marry; it’s what the word serendipity was surely made for!

Well, today’s darling duo has an equally lovely tale of fate to tell. Leanne is from Wales in the UK and Luke lives in Tasmania. Travel brought them to each other in Tasmania (where they were introduced by a mutual friend) as Leanne was travelling the world. They had a whirlwind romance, fell in love and decided to get hitched, so Leanne started planning to move and set up a new life in Tasmania with Luke and his adorable twin boys. I know…it’s like the perfect romantic movie script!

Due to them both being travel fans and since the guests that would be invited to their wedding would be from every corner of the globe, they decided that a destination wedding somewhere neutral would be the most suitable big day for them.

Leanne had dreamt of saying “I Do” in breathtaking Bali and it seemed the picture-perfect place for friends and family from around the world to meet and celebrate their nuptials. And a dream wedding it was too, from Leanne’s dazzling Jenny Packham dress to the magical cliff top venue, they had their day their way and it was literally a dream come true.

Real Wedding – The Natural Beauty Of Spetses

Claire & Robin   ♥    Spetses, Greece

Photographer:   Anna Roussos

The Greek island of Spetses has nudged its way on to my must-visit list. Always keen to visit somewhere a little less discovered, this peaceful spot is off the beaten Greek island-hopping track and has certainly kept its character and charm, with a horse and carriage still being the locals preferred transportation.

Claire and Robin wisely chose to emphasize the natural beauty of their chosen destination wedding location rather than detract from it, by using sympathetic styling and neutral detailing. Claire looked angelic in a timeless Jenny Packham gown, offset with vintage jewellery and a delicate white bridal bouquet, whilst her groom Robin complimented her and their theme perfectly in a stylish neutral suit.

The darling duo tied the knot outdoors, surrounded by nature and their loved ones, at an ancient amphitheater; olive trees and an abundance of off-white decorated the altar. The elegant Poseidonion Grand Hotel then hosted their stylish garden reception and the attractive attention to detail continued in the form of peacock print table name cards, olive branch decorations and soft candlelight.

All of the romance and the pure wedding pretty of Claire and Robin’s day, was captured by the amazing Anna Roussos.

Real Wedding – Pretty Pink And Purple Church Wedding Ireland

Siobhan & Ross   ♥   Tipperary, Ireland

Photographer:   Claire Penn

If you’re looking to get married abroad, then consider idyllic Ireland – it is a wonderful location for a dreamy destination wedding. It’s not too far for your guests to travel (if you’re from the UK) and it has some of the most beautiful, rural venues steeped in history and character, such as the stunning Kilshane House in Tiperrary. If you’re looking for a venue that oozes elegance yet delivers a relaxed and informal ambiance, this Regency built house has it all.

Siobhan and Ross certainly delivered a magical wedding for their guests when they said ‘I Do’ with a pretty pink and purple church wedding in Ireland last summer. Brimming with DIY-done-right details, big bright blooms, a faultless colour palette and the perfect amount of personal touches, they had their day their way and ensured it was full of fun, love and laughter (and dancing ‘til dawn!).

Siobhan looked every bit the Hollywood siren she hoped to. You can’t beat a beautiful bride with a pop of red lippy, a chic Jenny Packham gown and some stylish Louboutins to boot! The wonderful Claire Penn was there to capture the essence of this magical day…

Siobahn says:

“We are both born and breed in London, but my Mum and Dad are from Ireland. I have such amazing memories from going to Ireland every year when I was younger to Tipperary to our family home for Easter and summer holidays with all my cousins and family.”

Bringing Sexy Back – Wedding Dress Inspiration

You Mean The World To Me

On your wedding day you want to look uber-gorge from every angle going and especially from behind as you saunter down the aisle (we’re thinking Pippa Middleton styley!).

So when you’re choosing your wedding dress, you might actually pay as much attention to the rear view as you do to the vision from the front. Of course those crafty bridal designers are clued-up on this and some seem to make the back even more dreamy than the detail on the front.

We have a real obsession with beautiful button details on a bridal gown; there’s something so timely and elegant about a buttoned-back gown. They conjure up images from the movie ‘Atonement’ and the oh-so-ethereal Kiera Knightly, elegantly sashaying around a country manor in a slinky 1930s number. Anyway, we digress!

So in the words of our favourite trouser snake Justin, if you’re planning on bringing a bit of ‘sexy back’ to your wedding day ensemble, we thought we would share some beautiful imagery with you for inspiration: from beautiful buttons and delicate details to long swaying sashes and silky shoulder straps.

Fashion In Motion – Jenny Packham

You Mean The World To Me

On Friday You Mean The World To Me had the pleasure of attending the latest in the Victoria and Albert Museum’s ‘Fashion In Motion’ series of live events set within the classical Raphael Gallery, which invite a broader audience to enjoy the catwalk experience and be up close and personal to iconic designer’s.

Friday’s fashion event was celebrating 25 years of one of our favourite bridal and evening wear designers – Jenny Packham. Four catwalk-shows presented a selection of the designer’s favourite and most glamorous gowns from her elegant past collections, frequently worn by Hollywood stars and Royalty alike.

Jenny Packham said: ‘Our 25th year provides the perfect timing to take part in Fashion in Motion, which will present looks from past collections and include some of our most iconic pieces. It’s a pleasure to be able to present these within the inspiring space of the V&A’s Raphael Gallery’.

The grand Raphael Gallery – a perfect backdrop to Jenny Packham’s timeless evening wear – was packed with guests, buzzing with excitement for the show to start as the room lights dimmed.

Long limbed, lean models wore soft, natural make-up, their poker straight hair pulled into a simple, low ponytail – ensuring all eyes were firmly fixed on the dresses. One after another, the models gracefully glided past like floating angels, walking in silent rhythm to the classical beats, amplified by the towering domed ceiling.

Each of the exquisite dresses featured Jenny Packham’s signature style; with cinched in waists or feminine floating chiffon and of course glittering embellishments gleaming in the bright lights and dazzling the audience. A red flash of Louboutin sole could just be seen beneath the floor sweeping dresses – each one breathtaking and at the same time, so wearable (should such an occasion ever arise, except from our wedding day!!).

A wave from Jenny Packham at the end of the show was met with a raucous round of applause and a standing ovation – well deserved for this hugely successful, highly recognised and much loved British designer.
