Moss Bros SS14 Collection
This week’s Ask The Experts feature is for all you grooms-to-be out there. There is of course a huge focus on what the bride will be wearing to the wedding, however the groom will be equally as focussed on finding the right suit to ensure he looks dapper on his big day.
Knowing where to start can be daunting! With so many styles, fabrics and cuts available, knowing what will fit with the wedding and suit you can be a little intimidating. So the suiting specialists over at Moss Bros will be sharing their expertise, to help you find the right suit for you and your wedding.
First up, Moss Bros spoke to some of the most influential menswear experts and asked them to share their top tips for selecting a stylish suit…
Craig Landale – Founder & Editor of Menswear Style
Moss Bros: If you could choose one suit that will stand the test of time what would it be?
- Craig: “A navy two button single breasted, notch lapel suit is probably the safest bet. Blue is very versatile and can be worn with both black and brown shoes at ease. Although double breasted suits are trending this year, the single breasted has stood the test of time”.
Moss Bros: What rule do you always follow when choosing a suit?
- Craig: “I stay away from fashion suits, I’ll go slim but not skinny and it has to fit right. Get a 2nd and 3rd opinion on the suit fitting. Don’t go too cheap and stick to reputable suit brands.”

Charlie & Jono ♥ Dubai, UAE
Photographer: BlueCicada Photography
If you’re going to do a trash the dress session, this is how it should be done! The warm waters of Dubai look so inviting, you can see why Charlie and Jono were keen to dive right in.
Charlie manages to look every bit the beautiful bride when she’s been climbing over oil slicked boats in the crazy temperatures of the Dubai summer and even after diving headfirst into the Arabian Sea!
Her gown looks just as gorgeous floating in the surf as it would have done on her wedding day, especially the twisted strap detailing on the back. **Dashing off to check out the designer of Charlie’s dress – Nicole Miller**
“In true Dubai-style, Jono proposed to me post-brunch, which means post-all-you-can-drink-champagne, so we weren’t in the best state! Luckily he’d been prepared for a couple of months with a ring that he’d had made to include a diamond that was in my Grandmother’s engagement ring – good boy! Not sure how him and my Mum managed to keep that one secret from nosy me though!”
“As soon as I told my friend Caroline (who is a photographer – BlueCicada Photography) that we were engaged, she immediately offered to do an engagement shoot for us.”
“We wanted our wedding to be as relaxed and inclusive as possible, so we got married in London, where we first met 4 years beforehand. Our mum’s did the flowers and everything was a family affair, from the favours to the artwork. We used one of Caroline’s engagement snaps for our order of service leaflet – everyone loved it.”
Earlier this month, You Mean The World To Me was very kindly invited to Tea with Ted Baker – an exclusive tea party hosted by Moss Bros and Ted Baker to celebrate the launch of the new Tails of the UnexpecTed collection.
Tails of the UnexpecTed is a classic morning suit with a contemporary, Ted Baker style-y, twist. Inspired by Ted’s very own tailcoat, the Tails of the UnexpecTed suit incorporates a vibrant peacock feather lining.
The champagne afternoon tea party was held at the Moss Bros (the UK’s number 1 formalwear specialist) flagship store on Regent Street.
England Rugby League Stars – Sam Tomkins, Garreth Carvell and Jon Wilkin – modeled the new collection in the store window, much to the delight of passing female shoppers!
