Playacar is a five star gated resort area just south of Playa Del Carmen on Mexico’s Mayan Riviera. This luxurious gated community is home to a select number of high end all inclusive hotels and luxury condo complexes all sporting private white sand beachfront locations with unobstructed views of the crystal clear ocean (how much does that make you want to go on holiday?!).

Sara and Paul left their home of Canada behind and with their nearest and dearest beside them they journeyed to the tropical paradise of Playacar for an intimate wedding overlooking the beach. Pure destination wedding bliss!

Getting Married In Mexico 14

Bree & Erik   ♥   Puerto Penasco, Mexico

Photographer:   Ily Grantham

Not only did Bree and Erik’s destination wedding take place beside a beautiful beach in Mexico (not to mention how stunning Bree looked in her lace wedding dress…that she designed herself – how talented?!) but there’s a wonderfully warmhearted and thoughtful story behind the spot where they decided to tie the knot.

Being able to pick a truly unique wedding location can be one of the main reasons that brides and grooms decide to get married abroad. For this darling duo not only did a destination wedding feel right but getting hitched in Mexico enabled all of their close friends who live in Mexico to definitely be able to attend their nuptials.

A typical hotel wedding just didn’t fit the bill and so they set about making a brilliant one of a kind idea become a reality. I’ll let Bree the beautiful bride explain the full story behind their heartfelt bohemian ceremony in Mexico…

Getting Married Abroad

Laura & Ramin   ♥   Sayulita, Mexico

Photographer:   Dekker Photography

Did you catch Laura and Ramin’s beach ceremony in Mexico on the blog a few weeks ago?

They decided to go off the beaten tourist trail in Mexico and tied the knot on a secluded sandy beach in sunny Sayulita – a charming fishing village situated on the west coast and famed for its surfing. Be sure to take a look if you missed it, it was overflowing with lovely local style and traditional Mexican charisma.

Not only did they have a darling destination wedding day but this daring duo decided that since they were getting married abroad, they might as well use the opportunity to trash the dress in the surf the day after their wedding!

Armed with their photographer they headed to the beach to rent two small fishing boats. All dressed up in their wedding garb, Laura and Ramin braved the high seas to visit some nearby islands before returning to shore and submerging Laura’s dress in the Sayulita surf!

Getting Married Abroad

Laura & Ramin   ♥   Sayulita, Mexico

Photographer:   Dekker Photography

Mexico has long been topping the popularity charts for destination weddings and it’s not hard to see why; with a year-round tropical climate, sundrenched white beaches lapped by clear azure waters and an abundance of hotel and villa options combined with warm Mexican hospitality and delectable cuisine, this is one lovely locale.

Laura and Ramin decided to go off the beaten tourist path in Mexico for their destination wedding and tied the knot on the secluded sandy beach of sunny Sayulita – a charming fishing village situated on the west coast and famed for its surfing.

Traditional Mexican charisma is in abundance here and today’s couple ensured that their day represented the local culture with a wooden Mexican ‘La Boda’ wedding sign and ‘Novia’ and ‘Novio’ bride and groom seat signs and of course customary Mexican mariachi musicians sporting silver studded charro suits and sombreros to entertain their guests.

Your wedding guests will love it if you add some destination details to your day like Laura and Ramin did; getting married abroad is truly unique and by showcasing the lovely local style you will really give your wedding party a day to remember.
