Emanuela & Adam ♥ Rome, Italy
Photographer: White Rabbit Photography
It’s always a pleasure to share a traditional wedding from another country – it gives you a gorgeous glimpse of the style and atmosphere of a local wedding from another culture.
Today’s typically Italian ceremony took place within a beautiful Catholic Church in Rome, the happy couple surrounded by their family and friends.
So when in Rome, wed like the Italians with a simple yet oh-so-elegant soiree, just as Italian born Emanuela and Adam did….

Aren’t elopements romantic? Just you, your beau and a beautiful destination. They’re simply about the two of you tying the knot…nothing else….and no wedding politics! Sound like bliss? Then you’ll love today’s destination elopement….
Evri and Mert choose to elope and boy did they go for a great location! They jetted off from their homeland of Turkey to Rome – one of the most romantic cities in the world. They said “I Do” in the Turkish embassy and then they strolled the sunlit streets of this magical ancient city, taking in the sights and each other on their truly special day….
We are pretty darn lucky here at You Mean The World To Me…some incredible destination wedding photographers kindly take time out of their busy schedules to share the beautiful weddings that they’ve photographed across the globe, in order to bring you – the lovely readers – all kinds of wedding pretty in lust-worthy locations to inspire your own wedding day and your jet-set loving hearts.
These talented wedding togs also share our love for the wanderlust of course and whether it’s for work or for pleasure they get to visit some of the dreamiest destinations going. So, that’s where the new Travel Diaries series on the blog comes in; your favourite wedding photographers have the opportunity to invite us into their personal holidays and take a peek at their world-wide adventures. With beautiful imagery (obviously!) they also discuss their top tips and any must-see attractions for when visiting their latest vacation locale.
Having already visited The Unspoilt Algarve, we’ve also enjoyed Exploring Scenic Santorini and been introduced to A Personal Love of Provence. This month Gert Huygaerts helps us to discover The Amazing Amalfi Coast in Italy.
This picture-perfect region is top of many people’s must-visit list (mine included!). Literally bursting with romance it’s no wonder that it is hugely popular for destination weddings and honeymoons. Prepare to fall in love with some of the most idyllic spots that Italy has to offer…
Beautiful, romantic, sophisticated and elegant – not only does this sum up a dreamy destination wedding in Italy but it perfectly encapsulates today’s ethereal styled shoot….
“In Italy, the Lakes are a precious place, a dreamy backdrop for weddings. We realised this shooting in a historic Villa , where you can sense a Royal atmosphere, inspired by the owners of the Villa, the Muggia family. We inserted in the arrangements precious objects belonging to the historical heritage of the Villa and created a fairy-tale atmosphere, suitable for a romantic and classy bride.”
Zoe & Guy ♥ Tuscany, Italy
Photographer: Andrea Corsi Photographer
Pretty pink David Austin roses, a delicate lace dress and a luxurious hotel reception overlooking the rooftops of Old Town Florence, with the guests sipping cocktails as the sun goes down – yes, today’s summer soiree is destination wedding heaven!
Zoe and Guy decided to wave goodbye to their typically rainy home in the UK and jet-off with their nearest and dearest to Florence in Italy to tie the knot outdoors with a sunshine-filled garden ceremony at the unique five star Villa Tolomei Hotel.
This exceptional renaissance villa resort not only delivered on the Italian character front, it also enabled the bride, groom and their guests to enjoy a totally private, rural wedding day with a chic city right on the doorstep, just waiting to be explored over the wedding weekend.
Alyona & Pavel ♥ Tuscany, Italy
Photographer: Neverending Magic
Alyona and Pavel tied the knot in their homeland of Russia, however on previous vacations to Italy they’d fallen head over heels for this beautiful country and felt that they’d left a little piece of their hearts there.
So they decided to organise a symbolic wedding and a ‘day-after’ photo shoot in Tuscany so that they could have the best of both worlds – a wedding closer to home and a celebration in their most favourite place.
The morning started at the charming character-filled rooms of Valdirose, just outside of Florence before heading out into the rustic Tuscan countryside. Tania from Neverending Magic was behind the lens to capture the abundance of romance that filled the day and the stunningly beautiful scenery.
