Prudence & Shane ♥ Bali, Indonesia
Photographer: PhotoFactory Bali
Balian village on the west coast of Bali radiates a laidback vibe with a distinct undercurrent of cool; surrounded by rice paddies and coconut groves the volcanic black sand beach of Balian is famed with surfers making it an ideal spot for sun and surf with an easygoing atmosphere to boot.
Prudence and Shane love to surf in Balian and so, as it is with many couples who decide to get married abroad, they made the decision to share this special corner of the planet that they had lost their hearts to with their nearest and dearest on their wedding day.
Their destination wedding could not have been more true to the surroundings, with colourful seating and meditation cushions, this chilled couple created an oasis of calm overlooking the beach for their nuptials. Relaxed, romantic and informal was the ambiance they were hoping to create for their guests and this was certainly achieved – peace love and sandy feet seems to sum up their beautiful day to perfection!
Ps – You’ll love this bride and groom’s destination wedding style! Don’t you think Prue’s wedding dress looks just so effortlessly fitting for her beachside wedding? And Shane’s dusky powder blue suit is a current favourite of mine I must say….oh, and don’t get me started on how cute their flower girl is! Enjoy…
I must pre-warn you…..you might fall seriously in love with today’s styled shoot! I for one have spent far more time than I’d like to admit gazing at these gorgeous scenes from Neverending Magic Photography. Photographed in the grounds of Cape Point Vineyards near Cape Town in South Africa, this wedding theme inspiration is nothing short of stunning.
Not only is the location brimming with beauty – well, it is overlooking world-famous sauvignon blanc vines (yum!), with the crests of the Atlantic Ocean waves just in sight and with rural mountains standing tall in the background, commanding grandeur – but the beautifully feminine styling seen throughout is absolutely perfect for a destination wedding.
Delicate pinks and neutral hues are teamed with bright bursts of summertime blooms; rustic touches and natural burlap sit with pretty glass and delicate silverware to create an ideal outdoor summer wedding theme.
The soft and atmospheric lighting of the midsummer sunset works wonderfully with the twinkling candlelight and the look is faultlessly finished with fresh and breezy wedding dresses and dramatic flower crowns. *Sigh*
Kate & Josh ♥ Hertfordshire, England
Photographer: Bohemian Weddings
For those of you who read the blog in the UK we are not going to travel too far today! This delightful DIY wedding took place on a fabulous farm deep in the Hertfordshire countryside.
Kate and Josh turned this country farm venue into a carnival of colours; pretty ribbons, bright blooms, vibrant red bridesmaid dresses and some of the best DIY details I’ve seen added pops of colour and personality.
An elegant garden marquee was decked with pretty lanterns, super-sweet bunting and not forgetting a mouth-watering naked cake to deliver a rustic and rural finish. And check out the cheerful red balloon send off – such a steal-worthy idea!
Not only did this cute couple create an adorable wedding crammed with character, but they also smiled and laughed with their guests throughout the whole day, their love for one another clear to see…
Lia & Reza ♥ Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Photographer: Julie Comfort of Comfort Studio
Many newlyweds are choosing the keep the celebrations going the day after their wedding by having a photo shoot, capturing those first moments of marital bliss on camera.
Destination brides and grooms are increasingly taking this trend to a new level; they literally dive right in at the deep end by turning a day after shoot in to a trash the dress session. In the surf, underwater, riding horseback and more, the creativity and imagination that can be brought to an abroad trash the dress session is limitless!
Lia and Reza said ‘I Do’ with a delightful destination day in Costa Rica. If you missed it you seriously MUST go and take a look – I guarantee that their modern vintage wedding will have you instantly obsessed!
This darling duo were faced with some rain on their wedding day and so decided upon a day after session on the beach with their super-talented photographer Julie of Comfort Studio for some stunning portraits in the sun.
Lia wore her wedding flower crown and held her bouquet. Both her and Reza trashed their outfits during the session however they cleverly chose to wear alternative ensembles so as not to damage their actual wedding day wear. If you love the thought of a trash the dress session but you don’t want to wreck your wedding dress, then Lia and Reza’s idea is the perfect alternative.

Karen & Michael ♥ Georgia, USA
Photographer: Brandy Angel Photography
Natural, rustic, woodland weddings – how you make our hearts sing! This bright and breezy take on the classic boho bridal look is without doubt one of the most popular trends on the wedding scene this year.
Karen and Michael tied the knot at a lovingly restored dairy farm that originates from the 1800’s, creating a wonderfully rustic reception. Their daughters epitomised prairie perfection in boho bridesmaid dresses, au natural accessories and a pair of stylish cowboy boots.
To really rock the rustic wedding theme, ensure your flower crowns and bouquets feature an abundance of garden green foliage whilst bridesmaids all dressed in white will purely emphasise the organic impression. Team these meadow-worthy details with a pale pastoral-inspired palette and a farmyard reception with a village fete atmosphere to create your own countryside chic wedding.
