And who could be better to bring you all of the inspiration and information you need to start planning your wedding than the talented team of wedding planning experts at Boutique Souk?

Boutique Souk:

Marrakech is an exotic choice for a destination wedding, it has become increasingly hip due to the all-year-round sunshine, stunning venues and locations – palaces, riads, spectacular gardens filled with roses, palm trees and olive trees and of course low cost travel making it accessible for you and your guests.

Morocco is right up there on the list of most desirable short-haul destinations. Situated three short hours flight away from the UK, enjoying pleasant year-round temperatures, an abundance of culture to appreciate and ancient cities to explore, Morocco and Marrakech are fantastic places to visit and create a charming destination wedding location.

As well as the must-visit maze-like streets and the intense hustle and bustle of the souks of Marrakech, the enchanting Yves Saint Laurent Majorelle Gardens and beautiful Berber Museum are very much worth calling in on.  The spectacular Atlas Mountains are a mere 40 miles away from Marrakech, making them an easy (as well as unforgettable) day trip.

Many couples stay on after their wedding and enjoy their honeymoon in Morocco. Some choose to travel around, spending a night in the desert in a tent under the stars mixed with some luxury resort hotels in the mountains or at the coast for some pampering. Boutique Souk is an ABTA registered Travel Agency so we can coordinate honeymoons as well as guest accommodation for the wedding.

A wedding in Bali can be a magical holiday for both you and your guests and it’s the perfect place for a short mini-moon or your honeymoon after your big day.

There is so much to see and do in Bali – it is the perfect place for having some downtime with your nearest and dearest before and after your wedding day. You can enjoy a cycle or hike across the rice fields in the Ubud area, or relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets seen from Kuta, shop in fashionable Seminyak, or go surfing in Uluwatu, watch the famous Kecak dance or dance in one of Bali’s hip and happening clubs or try out tasty, traditional Balinese cuisine and enjoy fine dining. Your guests coming to your wedding will appreciate the many interesting adventures they can enjoy around your wedding day celebrations.

Tip!

With rice fields, beaches and more, Bali makes an excellent place to have your engagement photo session. If you have your session with PhotoFactory a few days before your wedding in Bali, you will have your engagement album ready to show off on your wedding day!

Wedding planners

Many good wedding planners have been around for decades in Bali and some great newcomers have recently joined the scene too. Top quality, international-standard vendors such as professional photographers, decorators, talented musicians and dancers are all set to deliver you with your dream wedding. You will have no problems communicating with your Bali wedding vendors in English either, giving you full confidence before your big day.

Wedding ceremonies

Blessing ceremony / commitment wedding

This ceremony is suitable for couples that wish to celebrate their wedding with a blessing in Bali, or for couples who don’t want to be legally banded in a marriage but wish to live in love and commitment. Everything is similar to a religious ceremony but it’s led by a celebrant and the certificate does not legally bind you in marriage. For this kind of ceremony you do not need to complete any legal paperwork and no authorities are involved.

Balinese blessing ceremony

Made famous back in the 90s when Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall tied the knot in Bali, the exotic Balinese blessing ceremony excites couples wanting to have an authentic Balinese cultural experience for their wedding. This is a blessing ceremony and not a legally binding wedding ceremony. It is only possible for couples who are genuinely of the Balinese Hindu faith to be legally married in the Balinese Hindu style. Again, you would not need to complete any legal paperwork and no authorities are involved.

Legal wedding ceremonies

All couples that want to legally marry in Bali (which is a part of Indonesia and is subject to Indonesian laws) must declare a religion. The Civil Registry Office can record marriages of Islam, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian-Protestant and Christian-Catholic faiths. Marriage partners must have the same religion otherwise one partner must make a written declaration of change of religion.

In Bali, the legal civil ceremony takes place after the religious ceremony. You will have an English speaking ceremony leader (priest or government official etc).

Whatever ceremony you choose, your wedding planner or hotel wedding coordinator will be able to help you through the preparation and throughout the wedding.

One of the best things about hosting a wedding abroad is that you get to spend an extended amount of quality time with your nearest and dearest. However, planning in extra meet-ups around your wedding day need not just be for destination weddings.

When guests finally reach your wedding location they’re going be tired from travelling, hungry, thirsty and looking for a pick-me-up. What better way to greet visitors and get them in the mood for the forthcoming nuptials than with a welcome get-together? For guests who arrive the day before a local wedding, arrange a time for everyone to meet at a lovely pub or at the hotel bar to enjoy a well-deserved tipple.

Invest in the best photographer you can afford and consider a videographer.

The magical moments captured last forever; you really do appreciate having incredible photos and video moments to share with your loved ones and treasure after your big day is over.

Don’t get caught up in perfection.

Some things might go wrong or not be exactly how you planned, but none of your guests would ever know or notice. You can’t control everything and it’s important not to stress the small stuff and remember that this day is for the two of you – nothing else truly matters than you and your hubby-to-be tying the knot. By keeping this in mind it will help you shrug off any minor mishaps or tiny tweaks you would have made in hindsight.

Have faith in your vendors and suppliers – you’re in good hands.

Introduce them to your best man and maid of honour so that if there are any questions to be answered on the day, they won’t come to you!  Ensure you delegate any wedding day jobs; people love to feel included and will enjoying having a role to play in your big day.

Eat, drink and be married!

Eat breakfast even if you don’t feel like it and relax with a glass (or two!) of champers to settle your nerves before the ceremony.

You Mean The World To Me

You’re engaged! Congratulations!

Being newly engaged is such a special time in your life; you can’t wait to buy your first wedding magazine, look at ideas online (www.hitched.ie and www.youmeantheworldtome.co.uk being your first port of call – obv!), you are overwhelmed with excitement from the recent proposal whilst enjoying the whirlwind of starting to plan your wedding day.

You Mean The World To Me

The first and probably the most important decisions you need to make are where to get married and then finding the perfect venue.

We simply adore dreamy destination weddings at You Mean The World To Me, however we can’t get enough of lovely local unities too. When it comes to answering that all-important question – will your wedding day be at home or away? It’s all about determining what’s truly right and reflective of you and your hubby-to-be.

In recent years, the number of couples opting for a destination wedding has been steadily growing. Many are seeking guaranteed sunshine (or snow), or a more unique wedding experience, others are lured by the temptation of a more cost effective big day, or the appeal of a less complicated and scaled down wedding. Whatever your w-day dreams, here are a few things to consider before choosing whether your nuptials will take place on homeland or an away shore.

First thing’s first:

What’s your vision for your big day and what are your top priorities?

Make sure these ideals are what you both desire and try not to get swayed by family opinions; remember it is important that you and your partner have your special day your way. If having Great Aunty Eve there is imperative to you and she can’t travel, having a wedding closer to home is going to be a no brainer. Sit down with your honey and discuss what you both envisage in detail.
