Prudence & Shane ♥ Bali, Indonesia
Photographer: PhotoFactory Bali
Balian village on the west coast of Bali radiates a laidback vibe with a distinct undercurrent of cool; surrounded by rice paddies and coconut groves the volcanic black sand beach of Balian is famed with surfers making it an ideal spot for sun and surf with an easygoing atmosphere to boot.
Prudence and Shane love to surf in Balian and so, as it is with many couples who decide to get married abroad, they made the decision to share this special corner of the planet that they had lost their hearts to with their nearest and dearest on their wedding day.
Their destination wedding could not have been more true to the surroundings, with colourful seating and meditation cushions, this chilled couple created an oasis of calm overlooking the beach for their nuptials. Relaxed, romantic and informal was the ambiance they were hoping to create for their guests and this was certainly achieved – peace love and sandy feet seems to sum up their beautiful day to perfection!
Ps – You’ll love this bride and groom’s destination wedding style! Don’t you think Prue’s wedding dress looks just so effortlessly fitting for her beachside wedding? And Shane’s dusky powder blue suit is a current favourite of mine I must say….oh, and don’t get me started on how cute their flower girl is! Enjoy…
Prudence the bride says:
“A main focus when organising our wedding was to make it comfortable and easy for ours guests. We choose Villa Lalang in Bali because we loved surfing in Balian and liked the idea of having everything and everyone in the one location so we didn’t have to move about.”
“Our style you could say was relaxed, romantic and informal. We had a picnic style ceremony; the grass was decorated with colourful sheets, meditation cushions and handwoven picnic baskets (with snacks and water inside) adorned with flowers.”
“Our tables for reception were beautifully styled with woven baskets to hold the flowers and copper candles (by cocolux ) that smelt of wild frangipani bringing a wonderful scent of summer through the air. Throughout the trees we had fairy lights with white lanterns which creative a whimsical atmosphere.”
“We both love food and we love music so they were two things we really wanted to ensure we got great service on. The catering company did an amazing job, we had live food stations with an excellent range of selections so our guests could eat as much as they liked. The band managed by Marlyn Productions really got the party started, we would recommend them to anyone looking for great live music.
“Because we sourced all of our vendors and decorated ourselves we definitely could ensure on the day that Shane and Prue were written all over it!”
Do you have any advice for couples that are looking to get married in Bali?
- “If you have your wedding abroad be sure to give clear communication on everything you are after, down to the smallest detail. I found those that were clear and prompt on emails were the best organised on the day.”
