It’s A Beach Life – Montego Bay

Getting Married Abroad Blog

After spending a lovely (although pretty wet and rainy!) August bank holiday weekend by the beach in Cornwall, I couldn’t help but stay in a beach life state of mind by sharing these magical Montego Bay moments!

One of the great things about a destination wedding (although there are many!) is that it is more than a one day event. The day’s surrounding your wedding will be just as overflowing with love and laughter as the big day itself, so use the extra time to your advantage and plan great get-togethers for your guests and steal away for some alone time with your partner and be sure to get as many photographs of these memorable moments as possible.

Chelsey and Doug tied the knot in magical Montego Bay in Jamaica (be sure to take a look at their blissful beachside wedding here) and the day after their nuptials they took advantage of being surrounded by stunning scenery and headed to the beach with their photographer Sara, of Sarunia Photogoraphy to capture this special time of being newlyweds.

Just as the old saying goes, your wedding day really is one of the happiest days of your life and today’s bride Chelsey might just be the happiest and most-smiley bride ever seen!

It’s such a joy to share in her and Doug’s day and to take a peek into just how delighted they are to tie the knot. Their luxury beachside Montego Bay ceremony, the cheer, the laughter, the tears of joy, and of course Chelsey’s gorgeous grin, all make this the kind of wedding that you wish you’d been invited to.

Oh, and you’ll be seriously crushing over the coral bridesmaid dresses too – the bright pop of colour looks oh-so-perfect for this blissful beachside destination day.

Rachel & Aaron   ♥   Montego Bay, Jamaica

You Mean The World To Me

Today’s real wedding is downright delightful and captured to perfection (as always) by the talented Closer To Love Photography team.

The venue for today’s celebration is a former pineapple plantation, housing the ever-renowned Round Hill Hotel and Villa’s – a boutique luxury cottage complex in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Originally opening its doors in 1953, Round Hill has been visited by a glittering gallery of guests ever since, including Ralph Lauren (a shareholder at Round Hill) and many more American and European famous faces – we’ll let Rachel tell you more.

With this spectacular setting as their backdrop, the dashing groom Aaron and oh-so-stunning bride Rachel delivered their guests with an intimate and elegant day to remember.

Closer To Love Photography:

“These two are just… INCREDIBLE. We first ‘met’ Rachel and Aaron over a consultation meeting on Skype many, many months before their wedding day, and we instantly fell in love with their personalities. Throughout the entire process of Skyping, and countless emails back and forth, they have been encouraging, gracious, and so kind through it all! They flew us out to Jamaica to document the biggest day of their lives and we are forever grateful to them for such a remarkable opportunity! This trip became a family affair – we had such a blast and a huge part of that is because of Rachel and Aaron’s generosity of taking us to such an exotic place in the world and allowing us the opportunity bring our little toddler along for the adventure!”

Rachel says:

“We were the couple that never thought we would be wed – that progressive couple that thought we didn’t need marriage to define our relationship. But something happened to us ten years later, our hearts changed and we were open to the idea. Aaron popped the question and I had butterflies. It couldn’t have been more perfect of timing.”

“Every day was planned with an event. A chartered sailboat served as our welcome party, where we snorkelled in a nearby lagoon and toured the bay until sunset.”
