Sometimes you visit somewhere and you feel like you’ve seen it, you loved it, but you’ve ticked it off the list and there’s no desperate need to return. Some other times though, you visit somewhere and as soon as you leave you long to go back.
No matter how many days you had there, it just didn’t feel quite long enough and you can’t shake the feeling that maybe you missed something or that you’d simply like to hang out there a little bit more…
Where are those places for you? Hawaii is one that’s on my list, particularly Waikiki Beach, but the Hawaiian Islands on a whole, and so every time a destination wedding from Hawaii pops up in my inbox it’s like receiving a little taster of this tropical paradise all over again!
Alisha and Dave’s beautiful and intimate ocean view ceremony certainly epitomises the magic of these Pacific Ocean islands. Outdoors and beachside is the only place to be, relaxed and informal yet stunningly breathtaking is the way of the land here and their destination wedding was all of this and more. So take a peek at their cheerful coral themed wedding, it will leave you longing for a trip to Hawaii as much as me I’m sure!

When it comes to planning a destination wedding you have a whole world of venues to choose from and so it makes sense that finding and selecting the perfect venue is one of the biggest decisions that a couple getting married abroad makes.
Once you’ve found an incredible venue or a locale surrounded by breathtaking scenery it needs far less dressing up on the big day too which is much more practical for a destination wedding and will be easier on your budget.
So whilst we are on the subject of stop-you-in-your-tracks wedding venues, please take a moment to browse through today’s utterly A-mazing destination day in Bali!!
We have certainly had our fair share of show-stopping weddings on the blog but I think that I can safely say that Alila Villas in Uluwatu is up there when it comes to the most awe-inspiring wedding locations. The modern architectural design and elegantly poised cliff edge location of the ceremony venue is just WOW. Oh and the totally unobstructed sea views…all you can see is the Balinese sun twinkling on the crests of the ocean waves. *Sigh*
So sit back and enjoy getting swept away by Tess and Peter’s simply stunning destination wedding, captured to perfection (as always) by the talented PhotoFactory Bali team.
Christina & Adam ♥ St. John, US Virgin Islands

It’s the first day of September (I know, how did that happen?!) which officially heralds the beginning of autumn here in the UK. Right on cue we are enduring a grey, wet and windy day weather-wise, however the holiday and destination wedding season is still in full swing…there’s always a pocket of sunshine to be found somewhere in the world!
So to brighten up this breezy day and to take our minds off the fact that winter is on its way, comes today’s beautiful beach wedding in the US Virgin Islands.
Christina and Adam left behind cool, foggy San Francisco and jetted off to the Caneel Bay Resort located within 170 lush acres of the Virgin Islands National Park. Spectacular azure waters and bleached white sand created a dreamy beach ceremony setting whilst pretty pops of turquoise and flashes of tropical pink gave a vibrant finish to this darling destination wedding.

Aren’t elopements romantic? Just you, your beau and a beautiful destination. They’re simply about the two of you tying the knot…nothing else….and no wedding politics! Sound like bliss? Then you’ll love today’s destination elopement….
Evri and Mert choose to elope and boy did they go for a great location! They jetted off from their homeland of Turkey to Rome – one of the most romantic cities in the world. They said “I Do” in the Turkish embassy and then they strolled the sunlit streets of this magical ancient city, taking in the sights and each other on their truly special day….
Jane & Michael ♥ Hudson River Valley, New York
Photographer: OLLI STUDIO
There’s been a touch of autumn in the air over the last few days in the UK. Torrential downpours and grey skies have been greeting us most mornings and once the sun finally came out yesterday afternoon there was a cool, fresh autumnal edge to the breeze and the pavements were strewn with yellow leaves where the trees must have mistaken the unseasonable weather for the beginning of fall.
Despite it signifying the end of summer, autumn is a lovely season and a gorgeous time of year for a wedding. Deep earthy shades can be teamed with pops of autumn brights – pumpkin orange and golden yellow and rich red leaves – to create a warm and romantic wedding theme.
Jane and Micheal jetted off to Upstate New York to create just this kind of cozy atmosphere for their wedding day. Their day was filled with crisp, bright sunlight and their venue didn’t disappoint with autumn-hued treetops and a dewy view over the Hudson River Valley as their backdrop. Cute personalised touches including pumpkins and scarecrows added to their pretty, rustic autumn theme.
Fingers crossed that the summer sunshine is going to return to us for a little while longer, but it is quite exciting that the lovely autumn months are just around the corner too…
Prudence & Shane ♥ Bali, Indonesia

Balian village on the west coast of Bali radiates a laidback vibe with a distinct undercurrent of cool; surrounded by rice paddies and coconut groves the volcanic black sand beach of Balian is famed with surfers making it an ideal spot for sun and surf with an easygoing atmosphere to boot.
Prudence and Shane love to surf in Balian and so, as it is with many couples who decide to get married abroad, they made the decision to share this special corner of the planet that they had lost their hearts to with their nearest and dearest on their wedding day.
Their destination wedding could not have been more true to the surroundings, with colourful seating and meditation cushions, this chilled couple created an oasis of calm overlooking the beach for their nuptials. Relaxed, romantic and informal was the ambiance they were hoping to create for their guests and this was certainly achieved – peace love and sandy feet seems to sum up their beautiful day to perfection!
Ps – You’ll love this bride and groom’s destination wedding style! Don’t you think Prue’s wedding dress looks just so effortlessly fitting for her beachside wedding? And Shane’s dusky powder blue suit is a current favourite of mine I must say….oh, and don’t get me started on how cute their flower girl is! Enjoy…
