Beauty Tips And Tricks
Unless you’ve been way too tied up with your wedding planning (put the to-do list down girl!) then you might have been stumbling across more and more articles recently concerning natural beauty products.
It can be pretty difficult though to work out what is a no-no when it comes to the ingredients in our beauty products. Organic or natural doesn’t automatically mean paraben, sulphates, sls and colourants free and what are these so-called ‘nasties’ and why are they so bad for us anyway?
An interesting email from a natural skincare brand called Bee Good popped up in my inbox recently (thanks guys!) asking me if I would like to try their award winning natural Honey & Propolis 2-In-1 Cream Cleanser.
Elegant and graceful ballet-inspired styles have danced across the catwalks and into our wardrobes over recent years and with the arrival of the AW14 pastel trend ballet-based fashion is set to continue. This supple style has lent itself well to the beauty arena too, where ethereal ballerina-inspired faces take center stage.
John Lewis have brought together the must-have cosmetics to create the ballet beautiful looks of the new season in their latest fashion and beauty magazine Edition. Not only picture-perfect bridal make up concepts but easy enough to try at home for the upcoming party season too.
So here’s a look at the my favourite products from the range that will have you ballet beautiful in no time…
Ballet slipper pink
Pastel shades are the core colours for the new season and this is being seen beyond the catwalks and into the beauty world too. Ballet slipper pink will definitely make the boys wink, so work gentle pink tones across your eyelids and add a hint of light lippy to create a pretty bridal, bridesmaid or party look this autumn.
Okay, so we know that you have all heard of dry shampoo (unless you’ve been living in a cave – in which case you probably wouldn’t be caring too much for dry shampoo), but we wanted to share our all-time favourite with you. We have tried and tested almost every dry shampoo on the market and we always come back to Batiste.
Not only is Batiste a handy hair wash in a single spray (a lifesaver on our hangover days when managing to give our mane a full wash and blow dry is never an option) but it gives our hair the volume, body and oomph it has always been sadly lacking – so much so, that we now use our BFF Batiste every day, even when it’s freshly washed. A friend to our fringe, Batiste ensures we are sweeping and sultry rather than lank and lifeless.
Batiste Dry Shampoo is also your perfect destination wedding pal, keeping your locks looking luscious no matter how hot and sticky you feel in the sunshine.
We love the new fragranced varieties (fruity and cheeky ‘Cherry’ being top of our lust list), but we think the real hero in the collection comes with a tint of colour, ensuring there are no hints of giveaway grey with your spray.
Are you as big a dry shampoo fan as us, or have we tempted you to add a daily blast of Batiste to your bangs? If you need more ‘hello’ from your hair, you won’t regret it.

As I remove the cap and peel off the seal, I take a quick sniff; it smells divine, just like a lovely spa filled with the aroma of natural, warm-scented ingredients.
PreCleanse is a plant-based cleansing oil which aims to thoroughly dissolve make-up, dirt, debris and oil to leave you with fresh, clean skin. Then, when you move on to the second step of the two-step cleansing routine (using your regular cleanser), your cleanser can work harder and more effectively.
