We are pretty darn lucky here at You Mean The World To Me…some incredible destination wedding photographers kindly take time out of their busy schedules to share the beautiful weddings that they’ve photographed across the globe, in order to bring you – the lovely readers – all kinds of wedding pretty in lust-worthy locations to inspire your own wedding day and your jet-set loving hearts.
These talented wedding togs also share our love for the wanderlust of course and whether it’s for work or for pleasure they get to visit some of the dreamiest destinations going. So, that’s where the new Travel Diaries series on the blog comes in; your favourite wedding photographers have the opportunity to invite us into their personal holidays and take a peek at their world-wide adventures. With beautiful imagery (obviously!) they also discuss their top tips and any must-see attractions for when visiting their latest vacation locale.
Having already visited The Unspoilt Algarve, we’ve also enjoyed Exploring Scenic Santorini and been introduced to A Personal Love of Provence. This month Gert Huygaerts helps us to discover The Amazing Amalfi Coast in Italy.
This picture-perfect region is top of many people’s must-visit list (mine included!). Literally bursting with romance it’s no wonder that it is hugely popular for destination weddings and honeymoons. Prepare to fall in love with some of the most idyllic spots that Italy has to offer…
When you’re getting married abroad it’s a good idea to get to the airport early! This will ensure that you’re feeling stress-free and you won’t be rushing around last minute as having more luggage to juggle than normal might mean that it takes you longer to get to check in and move around the airport.
A nice peaceful sit down with a chilled glass of champagne and a bite to eat would be the perfect start to your incredible destination wedding journey wouldn’t it? But where would you find this calming corner when you’re jetting off from one of the UK’s busy airports and will there definitely be some free seats and ones where you can park your wedding dress, suit bag and extra hand luggage next to you without being knocked by hoards of passing travellers?
If you want to kick start your destination wedding, honeymoon or upcoming holiday in a relaxing way with a little extra luxury thrown in for good measure then you should visit BookFHR.com and pre-book a visit to one of the UK’s stylish airport lounges.
When you’re planning a trip away, whether it’s for a mini-break, a long vacation, your destination wedding or even your honeymoon, the best information and ideas for choosing where to go or what to do when you’re there, always come from recommendations.
Hearing about the magic atmosphere of a place first hand is priceless, being given personal advice on where to visit and when is so invaluable and taking a glimpse at the undiscovered beauty of a locality can really help you to decide if this is the perfect holiday hotspot for you.
So that’s where Travel Diaries comes in! Your favourite wedding photographers are stepping away from their day job in the wedding world and instead they are sharing stunning personal snapshots of their global adventures, revealing their most beloved corners of the globe, whilst recommending fun and fascinating things to do when you get there.
This month the super-talented Caroline from BlueCicada Photography shares her personal passion of Provence; having grown up in this picture-postcard part of France she certainly knows the places to go and how to experience Provence like a local.
Whether you’re searching for inspiration for your destination wedding locale, on the hunt for honeymoon inspiration or hoping to discover somewhere new for your next holiday, the latest feature on the blog called ‘Travel Diaries’ is the destination for you.
Every month your favourite wedding photographers from around the world will be sharing their globetrotting adventures, along with the amazing places that they uncovered along the way and some helpful hints and tips for when you follow in their footsteps.
The first stop on the Travel Diaries tour was The Unspoilt Algarve in Portugal and today the journey continues across Europe to the stunning island of Santorini in Greece.
Kate and Tom (also known as photography duo Fotky pre Radost) are a blissfully married couple with a great passion for beautiful photographs, a love of travel and a longing to visit wonderful destinations the world over. One of those destinations was Santorini, which they chose for their first holiday together and later also for their honeymoon and today they’re sharing their top travel tips for getting the most out of a visit to this gorgeous Greek island…
If you’re getting married abroad, a love of travel and discovering new places is no doubt at the core of your decision to jet-off and host a destination wedding.
With this united passion for wanderlust in mind, this week sees the start of a new series on the blog: Travel Diaries.
Many of the tremendously gifted photographers that generously share the weddings they have photographed with this blog, also travel the world for destination weddings and of course on personal voyages too.
Travel Diaries will be bringing you stunning snapshots from all of your favourite photographers as they explore every corner of the globe. They’ll also be sharing their experiences, the must-visit hotspots they find along the way and some top travellers tips too.
So, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the first Travel Diaries feature! Michael and Andrea of Bohemian Weddings are as passionate about travel as they are photography. Their atmospheric pictures (shot mostly on film) of their exploration of the unspoilt Algarve will have you longing for quiet white sand coves and the sunshiny days of southern Portugal’s shores.
As the old saying goes ‘there’s no place like home’ and having grown up close by to the North Yorkshire Moors I was excited to be heading up north to this charming corner of England albeit via the beyond busy M1.
My hubby and I had planned a well-needed mini break that included a night in Ox Pasture Hall Hotel – a luxury country house hotel nestled between the tranquil hills of North Yorkshire and the charming seaside town of Scarborough.
