The sweet folks over at Biscuiteers invited me to their biscuit boutique and icing café in leafy Notting Hill to take part in an icing master class and to taste their newly launched London Afternoon Tea. How could I resist?!

As I entered the quaint, vintage-vibe biscuit boutique my eyes lit-up at the delicious displays of sugar-coated delicacies. From jolly gingerbreads designed for all occasions to tasty biscuit cards, from personalised chocolates to extra special cakes and impressive tins brimming with themed iced biscuits, all of the Biscuiteers sweet treats are delicately hand decorated and look almost too good to eat!

We all headed downstairs to the cosy icing café and with a little help and guidance from the passionate icing teachers (okay a lot of help and guidance, this takes practice! These guys are seriously skilled and must have super steady hands), we managed to beautify our cupcake and teacup biccie shapes with some colour and sparkle. As mentioned, it takes a modest amount of time to perfect these skills but the best thing is, any icing accidents or major design mistakes and you simply eat the evidence!

You can book your own private icing party and enjoy learning all of these tricks and techniques with a group of your girls, which I thought would be a delightfully civilized way to start a hen party day (with a glass or two of fizz of course!).

Not ones to turn down any form of food sampling, I didn’t resist having a little nibble of the newly launched London Afternoon Tea, which will certainly satisfy your sweet tooth with London designed tea-time treats including: red, white and blue macarons, union jack brownies, Battenberg cake, quintessentially English finger sandwiches and, of course, London Underground themed biscuits!

Select from the wide range of designs already available (I LOVE the destination themed biccies – of course!) or their bespoke wedding service allows you to work closely with the biscuit design team to create your own themed collection of biscuits especially for your wedding.

Oh and if that wasn’t quite enough, the Biscuiteers also can also cook up incredible, quirky cakes. Phew! Busy people these Biscuiteers.

Visit the Biscuiteers website for more information on wedding themed biscuits, cakes, private icing parties and all things biscuit based.
