Wedding Rings Direct:

So 2014 has begun and with it comes some lovely trends in engagement and wedding rings. So we are here to talk you through what’s hot for brides and grooms in 2014!

Rose gold – here to stay!

A key trend for 2013 was rose gold for plain wedding rings and also to create contrast in mixed metal rings. Its stunning pink colour creates a warm tone which also looks beautiful surrounded by diamonds.

Yellow gold is back!

White gold has been the popular choice for jewellery since the late nineties, but now yellow gold is making a comeback! The more traditional choice, yellow gold’s comeback has been championed by the Duchess of Cambridge who wears a plain yellow gold wedding ring next to her huge sapphire engagement ring. Whether going for something classic and simple like a gold band or adding diamonds, yellow gold is timeless and back in fashion!

Vintage:

Another trend that is here to stay is vintage! Alongside the desire for brides and grooms to put a vintage twist on their wedding reception, they are extending that look and feel to their engagement and wedding rings. Choosing a vintage style ring that isn’t an antique allows you more choice in style, size and diamonds; getting exactly what you want within your budget.

Stacking rings:

Although not a new concept in the jewellery industry stack rings are on trend in 2014 for wedding rings. Either having different colour metal rings that sit against one another to create a contrast, for example rose or white gold, or an engagement ring sat in between two diamond rings, one either side; this trend is ideal for brides and grooms looking for something a bit different.

Less is more:

Following the delicate vintage wedding rings trend, there has been an influx of petite engagement rings, featuring slim bands with elegant diamond set shoulders and a single solitaire diamond.

Modern metals:

More grooms are veering towards tough metals such as tungsten carbide, zirconium and titanium. Tungsten carbide is one of the toughest alloys on earth! It is incredibly scratch resistant and does not tarnish, making it perfect if you lead a heavy handed life! Other metals such as titanium and zirconium offer a hard wearing ring with a lustrous grey colour.
